Welcome to the first edition of On the Brink for 2020.

We begin this issue with the most current updates regarding our Emergency Bushfire & Recovery Appeal, including the latest from Kangaroo Island and the Dunnart project, an emergency evacuation in ACT and a new project to help the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby in the aftermath of the NSW bushfires.

Read the latest from project updates around Australia, including some very wonderful news about our Bush Stone-curlew project at Mt Rothwell with twins being born to Freckle and George.

In saying this, we also provide a detailed overview of our Mary River Turtle project situated at Mary River in Queensland where a clutch of 30 turtles have been born. An important project and one we hope you will consider supporting.

Thank you to our Stories from the Field contributor for this issue, Stewart Doddridge. His passion and dedication to help our endangered Tassie Devils is quite inspirational.

We also note, with sadness, the passing of Western Quoll Project Ambassador and former FAME Board Director, Peter Kay in December 2019.

A reminder too, that our 2020 FAME Donor Survey is now open until 31 March. Please take the time to complete the survey and share you thoughts and views with us. Complete the survey here.

It’s a big, jam packed issue, but a good one. Happy reading. If you have any feedback, suggestions, comments or questions, please email
