In partnership with the South Australian Department of Environment and Water (DEW), the project will release Greater Bilbies into the Gawler Ranges National Park (GRNP) as part of our work on unfenced safer havens for threatened and culturally significant species. The aim is to test the feasibility of successfully establishing Bilbies in an unfenced safer haven, with the longer-term goal of establishing a self-sustaining population of Greater Bilbies within the Gawler Ranges.
This project builds on the threat mitigation efforts and successful releases of Red-tailed Phascogales into the GRNP.
