SPECIES: Endiandra hayesii — Rusty Rose Walnut

CLASSIFICATION: Vulnerable

Rusty Rose Walnut is a medium-sized rainforest tree found in cool, moist and sheltered valleys and gullies, growing anywhere from 20-35m. Flowers form in small clusters and its fruits are single-seeded, black and waxy. The species is now restricted to parts of NSW and Queensland. Land clearing, fragmentation, fire and weed invasion are ongoing threats to those populations that remain.
