SPECIES: Petrogale concinna monastria — Nabarlek (Kimberley)

CLASSIFICATION: Endangered

What is a Nabarlek I hear you ask? It's a small species of Rock Wallaby, a pygmy species if you like. The Nabarlek exists as 3 different sub-species, of which 2 species are endangered. This particular species of Nabarlek is found only in the Kimberley region. Oddly enough, the Nabarlek, a distant relative of the kangaroo, continually loses and replaces its teeth! And to top it off, this gorgeous marsupial has a small brush at the tip of its tail. Awwww.
