An important message to our community.

An important message to our community.

March 20, 2020

I want to bring you up to date in respect of the COVID-19 Virus and its impact on our Foundation.

Quite clearly, the virus is a very serious health threat and, like all Australian entities currently, we’re acting on the advice of health experts and the authorities. To that end, we have cancelled, at least for the time being, any face-to-face meetings and our staff will either work from the office or, if necessary, work from home. Due to these changes in our working arrangements, please bear with us in receipting your donations during this time. Our usual 48-hour policy for receipting may not occur due to logistics.

Some of our supporters have asked to what, if any, extent the virus issue is affecting the Foundation’s on-the-ground projects. I’m happy to report they are continuing and the desired outcomes are not being compromised at this stage. I will, however, keep you informed of any developments. We are determined to bring to fruition those projects to which you have so generously donated.

Our Board believes that, despite the serious impact of the Virus on our nation, our members and donors will continue to support us in our critical work to save threatened species. I believe we are a resilient people, and ‘can do’ is in our nature. It’s what has driven the success of our Foundation. Australians are good in bad times. They are good to each other, supportive and community minded. We will need that ethos to dominate for the foreseeable future.

In due course, we will emerge from the severity of the COVID-19 threat and the Board and staff will work hard to ensure the Foundation is in good shape at that time so that we can continue our important work. As the situation continues to evolve, we’ll keep in touch. We hope you continue to take care of yourselves, your families, and your communities, and we truly appreciate your continued loyalty and support.

Should you wish to do so, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or telephone the Foundation on 08 8374 1744. Should the office close, this number will be redirected to my mobile.

Please be careful and look after your personal wellbeing.
