SPECIES: Ctenophorus yinnietharra — Yinnietharra Rock-Dragon

CLASSIFICATION: Vulnerable

A dragon that fits in the palm of your hand? That's cool. The Yinnietharra "Yinnie" Rock-Dragon is a reddish-brown reptile that grows to only 8cm. It has 4 distinct broad black bands down its tail and 'dragon-like' slightly enlarged scales in the skin-fold of its neck.

Found in the desert - but sadly, known to only exist in two locations. By day, the Yinnie Rock-Dragon basks about in the sunshine on rocky outcrops. When the going gets tough - aka danger or it's too dark, they are the first to hide themselves away in the safe confines of the rock crevices.
